albums I listened to all the way through
posted this week and every week (20)
This newsletter is late. For that, I apologize.
I should really commemorate this momentous 20th issue of the albums newsletter with something special. Like, “Guess what? I listened to 20 albums this past week.”
Nope. I listened to two. Actually, one. The other is an EP.
I don’t know that I have the energy to write a long reflective piece with some kind of point. Honestly, I spent most of my weekend glued to CNN and/or sleeping. Things feel too precarious right now to really make any sort of meaningful commentary, other than no more war.
(I did make some incredible chicken & rice for meal prep though 👍)
The bands I heard this week deserve more from me than this short little nothing of a post. Rest assured I will be writing a longer newsletter about Brooklyn-based Lampland and Hiding Places, both of whom feature incredible musicians and all-around-awesome people. You all should really check them out, especially if you like Lily Seabird, MJ Lenderman, hemlock, Dead Gowns, and Sister.
Here are the albums and EPs I listened to all the way through this past week:
Get Serene (2025) by Lampland~
Hiding Places (2022) by Hiding Places~

That Get Serene is solid. It’s been in my “write up a review” list for a bit now. I gotta get on it. Hard to do when (waves hands at everything)
Comfort food + comfort music = a little less madness 🫶🏻
