albums i listened to all the way through
posted this week and every week (41)
Hello, lovely listeners!
I hope folks in the U.S. had a nice or at least bearable Thanksgiving. I stayed home and made GF cake, mac-and-cheese, and reveled in my first adult-cooked turkey. It was delicious! I watched the typical Thanksgiving specials and caught up on some Oscar bait movies. Also—I slept…a lot. It’s insane, I know, but I do feel as though I still run on college student time. I don’t know if or when this will ever go away.
I also organized my desk and correspondence, so sending out these mail bundles will be easier and free of stress. Of course, I didn’t get much listening done. I’ve only got three albums for you this week. But hey—everyone needs a break! So, here’s a quick review of each in a few sentences or less.
Here are the albums I listened to all the way through this past week:
Liquorice (2025) by HatchieX (Masterful. Never the same. Pop-synth heaven on Earth.)
Adult Romantix (2025) by WinterX (I cried five times. The late-20s album I needed at this exact moment. Please go listen to this album.)
LOTTO (2025) by They Are Gutting A Body of Water (Indescribably good.)

~ = recommendations from Substackers & friends

Once again, I’m planning to do a holiday mail bundle for anyone who wants it, including zines, newsletter-branded stickers, and a hand-made, seasonal “Thank You” card. I feel immensely grateful that I get to wake up every Sunday and share what I’ve been listening to with all of you. I never thought that would be possible. It’s both inspiring and deeply humbling.
So—if you’d like to receive this fun little mail bundle this holiday season, please fill out this form. There are still plenty of spots left!
Thanks everyone :)

Abby, this was such a gentle and grounding read. I love how you weave the small, restorative moments of your week—cooking, reorganizing, actually resting—into the same space as the music that carried you. Your three album picks feel especially intentional, and your note on Adult Romantix definitely pushed it onto my list. The holiday mail bundle is such a thoughtful touch too. Thanks for sharing these quiet, honest snapshots each week—they always land.
I love the brief "mini reviews" with the albums list - this was great! Also as someone in my late 20s as well, your Thanksgiving sounds heavenly. :) I'm very grateful for your newsletter and what you're doing here - it's incredibly unique and one of my favorites here on Substack. I'm glad I found it this year!
